IN-DEPTH GUIDE
How to install & take down your inflatable
Five steps from unpacking to lighting it up, with photos and video for each one.
01
Unpack and lay it out
Take everything out of the carry bag and lay the inflatable flat with plenty of room around it. Check the blower, cable, remote and fixings are all there before you start, so you're not hunting for something once it's up.
- Give yourself more space than you think you need
- Put batteries in the remote now rather than later
- Keep the carry bag somewhere safe for packing down
02
Choosing your installation method
Decide where your inflatable is going before you inflate it, as it's far easier to move while flat. D-rings are built into every prop, with placement depending on the design: higher up for hanging installations, around the body or base for floor-mounted ones.
- Check clearance above and around it at full size
- Hanging installations suit ceilings, truss and stage setups
- Floor-mounted installations suit entrances, walkways and photo areas
- Always use a groundsheet or mat on concrete or rough ground
03
Secure your inflatable
Attach the ropes or D-rings while the inflatable is still flat. It's far easier to work with before it's up, and it means you can lift it straight into position once inflated.
- Attach while flat rather than reaching once it's inflated
- Use every fixing point supplied, not just a couple
- Give each one a gentle tug to check it holds
04
Connect & inflate
Before you inflate, check that all zips are fully closed. If a zip is left open, air will escape and the inflatable won't hold its shape properly.
The blower is built in, so there's nothing to assemble. Connect the power, position the blower where the cable reaches safely, and it'll rise in seconds. The blower keeps running throughout your event to hold the shape.
- Check all zips are fully closed before switching on
- Stand clear as it inflates, particularly with larger pieces
- Keep cables out of walkways or tape them down
- Leave the blower running, it isn't a one-off inflation
05
Positioning and lighting your inflatable decoration
With it fully inflated, lift it into position and secure the ropes or D-rings to your hanging points. Then use the remote to set your colours, brightness and effects.
- Anchor it off properly before you walk away, especially outdoors
- Set your colours before the venue fills up
- Fades and slow changes suit chill-out areas, bold colours suit stages
- Keep the remote somewhere you'll find it again
USING PARADE PROPS INSTEAD?
How to setup inflatable parade props
Our inflatables aren't limited to static hanging or floor-mounted installations. The parade range is built to move, powered by a standard 12V battery rather than mains electricity, so there's no fixed rig or external power needed. Because these are worn, they can't be mains powered.
-
Setting one up
Connect the blower to a charged 12V battery and the prop inflates in minutes, holding its shape throughout use. Batteries aren't supplied, so make sure yours is charged before the event. When you're finished it deflates smoothly and folds back into its carry bag ready for the next set.
- Charge your 12V battery before the event, it isn't supplied
- Adjust the telescopic pole to suit the performer
- Deflate and fold into the carry bag between sets
-
Pole-mounted inflatable props
Mounted on an adjustable telescopic pole so you can control the movement and height of your inflatable by hand. The pole adjusts to suit the performer or the production, which makes them work across parades, processions and brand activations.
-
Harness and shoulder-worn costumes
Worn on the body with straps over the shoulders. Pop the straps on, connect the battery to the fan, and it inflates around you ready to perform.

Care & safety information
What power & voltage is required?
Most of our inflatables run from mains electricity, and we match the blower to the correct voltage and plug for your delivery address, so it arrives ready to use. Most European countries run on 220-240V, while American countries run on 110-120V.
Walking parade props and inflatable costumes run from a standard 12V battery instead, which isn't supplied. That's what lets them work on the move without a fixed power source.
- Check your product page to see which type you have
- Charge your 12V battery before the event
- Keep cables out of walkways or tape them down
- The blower runs throughout to hold the shape
Lighting & remote for LED
Most inflatables come with LED strips fitted, though some have bulbs and the occasional piece has a spotlight installed instead. The lighting system sits integrated near the blower so it glows evenly through the fabric rather than showing hot spots.
Everything is controlled by the remote that comes in the box, which lets you change colours, brightness, fades and flashing patterns. Batteries aren't included, so it's worth sorting those before the day rather than on site.
- Put batteries in the remote before you travel
- Test your colours before the venue fills up
- Fades and slow colour changes suit chill-out areas, bold static colours suit stages and photo walls
- Keep the remote somewhere you'll find it again during the event
Indoor & outdoor usage
Our inflatables are suitable for both indoor and covered outdoor installations. They run on mains electricity, which means the blower, cable and plug all need to stay dry, so outdoor use should always be under cover.
The inflatable itself is made to hold its shape in open spaces, but wind is the thing to plan around. Anchor at every point supplied rather than just a couple, and give yourself enough clearance that nothing can catch it as it moves.
- Covered outdoor areas only, never in the open in rain
- Keep the blower, cabling and plug sheltered and dry
- Use every anchor point supplied, not just the corners
- Allow clearance around it, as it'll shift slightly in a breeze
Are inflatables fire retardant?
Most of our inflatable props can be ordered with a fire-retardant material upgrade. With this upgrade, the standard Oxford fabric is replaced with a strong plain-weave nylon, which is then printed with the same immersive designs.
If you'd like to inspect the upgraded fabric before ordering, we're happy to send you a sample.
Customers can apply their own appropriate fire-retardant treatment if they'd prefer to keep costs down, though we'd always recommend the upgraded material as the better option.
Venue requirements vary, so please check yours before ordering.
- Fire-retardant material upgrade available on most props
- Samples of the upgraded fabric available on request
- Check your venue's requirements before you order
Event grade materials
Made from event grade Oxford fabric with reinforced seams to hold shape during large-scale setups. Every piece is hand stitched in our workshop, so the seams stay sharp and the form stays consistent through repeat use.
The fabric is chosen to travel well, which matters if you're moving between venues. It packs down small, comes back out without creasing badly, and holds its colour event after event.
- Built for repeat use rather than a single event
- Reinforced seams hold shape at large scale
- Fabric is durable but not indestructible, so avoid dragging it across rough ground
How to store safely
Designed for easy storage, transport and repeat use across multiple venues. Once your event is over, switch off at the plug, let it deflate fully, and check it's completely dry before it goes anywhere near the bag.
Damp is the main thing that shortens the life of an inflatable, so if it's been anywhere humid or picked up condensation, let it air first. Fold rather than scrunch, and it'll come out of the bag looking the same next time.
- Always pack away completely dry
- Fold rather than scrunch to avoid creasing the fabric
- Store somewhere cool and dry, in its carry bag
- Coil the cable loosely rather than tightly around the blower
- Choosing a selection results in a full page refresh.
