Ah, the great debate! The “right” time to put up your Christmas tree varies depending on tradition, culture, and personal preference.

Here are the most popular choices:

  • 1st of December – The modern favourite. As soon as the calendar flips to December, the decorations come out.

  • Start of Advent – Traditionally, Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas. Some households stick to this older custom.

  • After Thanksgiving – Common in the United States; once the turkey is eaten, it’s officially Christmas mode.

  • Whenever you fancy – Let’s be honest… many of us pep up gloomy winter days by decorating early. If the lights bring joy, why not?

There’s no strict rule — Christmas is about creating happiness in your home. Whether you start in November or mid-December, it’s the spirit that counts.
